Throwing is a technical sport. People often assume that being strong and/or massive is the only thing needed to be successful in the throws. This is not the case, however. While size and strength may be beneficial to throwers, to be successful, a thrower must be a true technician of the sport. In order to become proficient at throwing technique, there is a progression of drills and skills to master. Below you will find links to videos demonstrating each of the steps in the progression for success in the shot put. Progression for both the glide and rotational techniques are included.
